Flagler Beach Shall "Live" in Perpetuity !!!!

As you can see from the picture above we made it to the Sign Post Forest in Watson Lake, British Columbia. We added our "Flagler Beach, Florida" sign to the more than 65,000 signs that are displayed there. The first sign was placed by a homesick GI in 1942 while stationed there working on the Alaska Highway. The idea has GROWN over the years (to say the least). Every year the town adds new posts so, with the help of a borrowed ladder, we were able to place our sign (provided by the Flagler Beach Road Dept.) in a very prominent location. We located signs from Orlando, South Daytona, Tallahassee and Starke but no Palm Coast. That doesn't mean that it wasn't there; it's IMPOSSIBLE to view all the signs. We didn't see another Flagler Beach so we hope we're the first.

While in Watson Lake we also attended the Northern Lights Interpretive Center and viewed a great planetarium presentation on the Universe and the Aurora Borealis.

On Saturday we left Watson Lake and stopped at Rancheria Falls on our way to Whitehorse. We got to the falls via a short hike through a boreal forest. EVERYTHING is just beautiful here.

Attached is a link to a couple pictures of The Sign Post Forest and Rancheria Falls.

We're a couple days behind on these Posts so check back often as we will be adding Whitehorse (Sunday & Monday) AND our entry into Alaska (on Tuesday) very soon.

Take care and stay safe,

P&J
